Difficulty in learning to blog

I am amazed at how difficult I have found it to add a post.  I spent quite a while going around in circles 'looking' at my blog from the 'outside' and not being able to work out how to get 'in' to post.  While I felt fairly foolish when I eventually worked out that I had to go first to http://www.blogger.com/ and then log in, I felt sufficiently unnerved that I am posting this vital little piece of information here lest I forget again.
